Founded in 2011 by Alice, Lois, and Margaret, The Empowerment Team is a faith-centered, non-profit organization specializing in community driven service.

What We've Achieved
Won the 2019 ServeOhio Award for volunteer service in the Central Ohio region.
The Empowerment Team has conducted over 250 Power Up! classes and have assisted more than 1,400 families to improve their current status.
The Empowerment Team hosts Linden community cleanups. In 2018, The Empowerment Team gathered more than 50 volunteers, covered over 50 blocks of Cleveland Ave., and collected over 100 bags of trash.
The Empowerment Team Fashion Show Fundraisers taught patrons how to use second hand clothing stores and still look exceptionally good. The programs include: Sisters of excellence Fashion Show 2012; Fall Into Style Fashion Show 2013; Hypnotized Fashion Show 2014; Transformation Fashion Show 2017
The Safety and Anti-Violence Education Project is our community outreach. S.A.V.E. combats violent behavior through education. At this event we provided speakers from various organizations to address the impact of violence and how we can begin positive ways to handle difficult situations. Along with the educational piece we also provide fun, food, and entertainment for the whole family. The Empowerment Team has hosted three (3) projects: S.A.V.E. Project 2011; S.A.V.E. Project 2012; and Families in Crisis 2016.
Breaking the Chain of Violence and Injustice 2014 – Our panel consisted of Councilman Hearcel Craig. Dr. LaFayette Scales of Rhema Christian Center. Dr. Jefferey Kee of B.R.E.A.D., Andrea Carson of N.A.B.C.J., and Attorney Beverly Conner. Panelists were afforded the opportunity to bring awareness to social determents of health that plague our community.
The Empowerment Team has participated in the Linden community KCB project to clean up the Linden community from July to September every year.
A Morning with Women of Excellence 2013 – Our fundraiser guest panel consisted of Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Senator Charleta Tavares, Councilwoman Priscilla Tyson, and Judge Terri Jamison.
